Today i got all excited because today was PICTURE DAY! i love picture day. i may not seem like the picture type but secretly i like being able to hold on to things like evidence...so pictures were to be done on the front steps of the peace palace at 1245 this afternoon, great for memory road when i would be opening my little wooden picture box (which i still need to purchase) with my beautiful, calm, quiet, angels of grandchildren. PERFECT! Picture time! great excuse to get out of these librarians hair. I will walk to the steps, get my picture, return to get my book, and all will be in working order once again. but interesting, no one else seems to be anxious about this whole picture idea...they are all just doddling around picking their noses and staring at the CEILING! WTF! whats going on here. fine, whatever! I will be alone in this picture if i have to be it would be better that way anyway. i begin to walk. thank god, i see others like me...they seem happy and i think i hear talk of the picture...okay, so i am on the right track. i turn the corner to veer left in the direction of the steps, but everyone else seems to be taking the right track towards the EXIT GATES! THEYRE LEAVING! oh my god. what is wrong with all these people!? its picture time, dont they know this??!?! Okay, dont panic. observe your surroundings, observe the people, what is the general attitute. ask yourself why you are the only one panicky. so i take a good look at the stairs, wait a second. there is no camera guy. i turn around. everyone else seems to be leaving. think damn it think. what am i missing. I specifically remember the board reading "12:45 group picture on the Peace Palace stairs" im not angry. im not upset. im just a little confused. did i get the wrong time? I go back to the drawing board (literally, there is a little board that tells us of the days activities) its been erased! ITS GONE! how did this happen? where did it go? i was in all my lectures, there was no talk or discussion of a change...what is going on here. there must be a conspiracy i think. so i go to the little question desk. and again i hear of talk of the pictures. finally someone asks me what is going on this evening. im like HA. sure, you think you have problems. so i say, well i dont know whats going on tonight, but more importantly whats going on right now? she looks a little confused. so i ask a more definite question. arent we supposed to be taking pictures right now? she just looks at me. and in that moment i just go dumb. what is it that everyone seems to know that i dont. she looks at me and says, im soo sorry, but pictures were yesterday. so i take a better look around and see that people WERE mentioning the group picture because they were holding the PICTURE IN THEIR HANDS! i missed it! it was yesterday!!!???!?! urgh..i will just have to get a copy of the picture and photoshop it. you will all see me in this grand picture, trust me. So as I go back to the library to challenge the librarians to another game of "Find that book"...they seem to be willing to participate. Well the jokes on me because it seems to be MIA! but even funnier, when i log on, the library computer seems to believe that it is under my possission! ha. jokes on that silly computer.
